When recommending or explaining different insurance products, whether it is travel insurance, home insurance, car insurance, employees’ compensation insurance, third party or public liability insurance, etc., customers always want to know what indemnity the beneficiaries can be awarded if the insured unfortunately get injured during an accident, and what kind of legal protection and insurance compensation are available to both the insured and beneficiaries.
This course helps insurance intermediaries understand what kind of compensation clients can receive for different types of accidents under Hong Kong’s legal framework. Since insurance products are designed with reference to Hong Kong’s legal framework, after you understand the Hong Kong’s legal concept in relation to accident compensation through this course, you will be able to:
- understand the design logic and legal basis behind the products with accidental insurance components
- respond to customers’ inquiries about the coverage of target insurance product more professionally
- design a comprehensive insurance package for customers in a more professional way
- understand the factors that insurance companies will consider in the course of handling claims applications
- understand the insurance companies’ rationale for filing a lawsuit against the perpetrator

Content of this course:
- The legal grounds on which the injured can seek compensation in different types of accidents, we also share the latest court cases and latest compensation amounts for your reference:
- Occupational injuries and diseases (e.g. if an accident occurs after office hour during lunch break, is the employer responsible? If an employee ignores safety instructions and is hence injured at work, why is the employer still responsible?)
- Problematic food
- Defective products
- Accidents inside building or at premises (e.g. slipping and falling in a shopping mall or get injured while riding in an elevator, who is responsible? How about slipping in a restaurant while picking up food, does the restaurant have to be held responsible?)
- Attacks by an animal (e.g. if your client is visiting his friend’s home but bitten the dog of his friend, can your client claims compensation?)
- Injuries during sport activities/competitions (e.g. what is the difference when your client is injured during a causal competition with his friends and during a training class?)
